OPTOTRAK PROseries, NDI’s flagship metrology system, is an optical Portable CMM
solution created specifically for the industrial metrology sector. It features a universal
Optical Tracker and incorporates NDI’s target-basedIRED design into digitizing probes
and laser scanners to provide an armless, wireless, and beamless measurement solution
with excellent accuracy.
ScanTRAK is NDI’s latest industrial innovation, offering the
combined power of handheld laser scanning, contact probing, and the exceptional ease of-
use provided by NDI’s Optical Tracker. An integrated Multi-Sided Probe (MSP)
allows operators to freely orient ScanTRAK in all six degrees of freedom (6DOF)
without beam break issues or mechanical restrictions, dramatically improving
productivity. The MSP has a convenient
mounting system that requires no tools, allowing it to be easily and
repeatedly attached to various objects for greater utility. The precalibrated,
multi-faceted target configuration allows the system
to continuously maintain tracking as the MSP rotates a full 360
degrees about all three axes. This unique design offers unlimited
range of motion without any off-angle limitations. NDI’s Optical
Tracker can do more than any other technology with its ability to
track the complex 6DOF motion of many objects simultaneously. The (MSP) Probe system utilizes standard Renishaw components to provide a large array of components and replacement part support.

NDI and PolyWorks® are integrated through a plug-in that supports the OPTOTRAK® PROseries ScanTRAK system for non-contact digitization of large objects, as well as the OPTOTRAK PROseries Portable CMM for the measurement of hidden geometry and complex shapes. NDI users can perform point cloud and probed-based data acquisition and data analysis directly from the software interface, providing live results and instant feedback on the quality of the part being measured.

The NDI Dynamic Measuring Machine is one of the most powerful and capable tools for advanced motion analysis. The DMM uses an Optical Tracker to track specially designed targets that mark specific points of interest.
