Toyoda

Toyoda Machinery knows Grinders.  Since the 1950’s, Toyoda Machinery has been building durable and accurate grinders for a wide range of customers.  The thought process of Toyoda Grinders stands on three pillars:

  1. Toyoda’s patented STAT spindle bearing
  2. Toyoda’s exclusive “floating plate” ballnut
  3. Toyoda’s ALL CAST IRON machine base

Toyoda’s patented STAT Spindle Bearing is a combination of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic design.  At rest, static pressure holds the wheel firmly at center; while during rotation, rigidity and dampening performance is made possible by a combination of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces.  Because there is no metal-to-metal contact between the bearing and spindle during start up and shutdown, the STAT spindle has less wear, giving the customer the longest lasting spindle you can buy.

Flat & V Bedway Design

Machine Bases of Toyoda Grinders are all cast iron.  These bases are of a stress relieved, cross-ribbed design, employing FEM analysis and topological optimization for optimum rigidity and vibration dampening.  Thermally stable throughout, Toyoda’s cast iron base, workhead, footstock, and wheelhead offer maximum repeatability.  To minimize contamination, Toyoda bases have a Flat & “V” design with positive pressure ways to direct the lube in the proper direction.

FEM Analysis

Toyoda’s exclusive “Floating Plate” Ballnut absorbs the run-out of the ball screw.  This gives the customer high-accuracy through simultaneous feeds of both the X and Z axis.  Superior design gives guarantees this ballnut has a long life, and is also adjustable in increments of 0.1 µm.

Another key advantage of Toyoda Grinders is the Toyoda CNC.  The GC50, Toyoda’s CNC, is ideal for grinding, and offers superb reliability.  Their design is widely proven through the 30,000+ worldwide installations!

Select G

Toyoda’s Select G is a universal grinder with a manually index-able wheelhead.  The wheelhead rotates from 0 to 30 degrees to accommodate either a straight or angle wheel.  This feature expands the capability of a single machine without the added investment of a full CNC controlled wheelhead, or second dedicated grinder.  The changeover between wheels is a simple manual procedure, with wheelhead positioning ensured by precision guides

The GE4 grinder is an economical machine for mass production.  Available in straight or angular wheelhead configurations, the GE4 is ideal for simple operations.
