VMC Construction

Solid Construction:  Superior structural rigidity is essential to achieving precision and lasting performance in heavy cutting applications.  The FV Series machines have a large Meehanite cast iron base paired with an extra wide, inverted Y-shaped column.  The Meehanite base is superior to ordinary cast iron due to its high density and uniform soundness. These characteristics give the casting greater tensile strength and maximum vibration-dampening capabilities.  The four box ways are an integral part of the once-piece cast base.

Precision Guideways:  Each box guide way is positioned at a precise Bessel support point to eliminate saddle overhang.  There is a perfect one-to-one ratio of the four guideways to the X axis travel.  All contact surfaces are hand-scraped for long-term accuracy and durability.

Powerful Drive Motors:  All three axes have AC servo motors that are controlled by an advanced digital signal for faster processing of position feedback.  They are joined to the ballscrew with highly rigid axial couplings to support high thrust loads and instantaneous response without backlash.  The result is a smoother surface finish and higher accuracy in the finished part.  These AC servo motors and precision ball screws eliminate the need for a counter balance on the Z axis.

High-Performance Spindle:  A robust cast-iron head stock is paired with a precision direct-drive or gear-driven spindle.  All offer high revolution accuracy, thermal stability, and maximum vibration dampening characteristics.  Select from a range of 40 to 50-taper units from 6,000 to 15,000 rpm to match your machining requirements.

Chip Removal System

Chip Removal:  All FV Series machines have a high volume of coolant flow across the bed to accelerate chip flow.  The angled bed and coolant flush chips into a dual screw-type auger for efficient removal and less operator maintenance.

Automatic Tool Changer:  The CT40 ATC has a capacity of 32 tools or 40 tools (optional).  The CT50 ATC has a capacity of 30 tools (FV1480/1680 have optional 40 tool capacity).

Advanced Control System:  The FV Series relies on the Fanuc 18i-MB control to meet the demands of complex die/mold applications.  Toyoda’s upgraded Fanuc package includes AI Nano, high speed machining capability with 180 block look ahead, Manual Guide i conversational programming and 3-D tool path verification.

Toyoda also offers Bridge & Gantry style machining centers. These large machines combine rugged reliability with high accuracy for large, heavy part manufacturers.  Superior structural rigidity delivers extreme precision and lasting performance.  Automatic tool changer technology delivers drastic improvements in high-quality part throughput.  Toyoda offers three models of Bridge & Gantry machining centers.  The SB series is designed for high horsepower applications with travels up to 157” X-axis and 63” Y-axis.  Toyoda’s RB series is engineered for high speed processes up to 118” X-axis and 47” Y-axis.  The LB series is Toyoda’s largest bridge-type machining center with 239” X-axis and 98” Y-axis travels.  Large part manufacturers, such as aerospace and energy companies can rest assured that Toyoda’s application engineers are highly experienced in developing solutions to enhance their productivity.

Toyoda SB Series

Toyoda’s experience with high-volume production helps to design and build machine tools that perform under pressure.  Exacting process accuracy in the manufacturing process contributes to a reliable lifespan of the machine tool and its components.  The FV Series machines are manufactured to the strict quality assurance standards of ISO 9001 and VDI 3441 to ensure lasting performance.  So when you decide to buy a Toyoda machine center, you can be confident that your business is investing in proven technology.
